Carlyle House Café, Restaurant, and Private Dining Room is run by Glenfinlas
Edinburgh-based Glenfinlas began its life as a coffee importer in 1998, and developed from simple beginnings into a pioneering pop-up café operator at venues including The National Gallery of Scotland, DanceBase, The Edinburgh International Book Festival at Charlotte Square, Lyon & Turnbull (Auctioneers), and The Edinburgh International Science Festival at the City Art Centre.
Our History
The company took on its first permanent café concession at the Fruitmarket Gallery in 2004 (until 2015), and followed with similar concessions at Saint Giles’ Cathedral (from 2007), The Scottish Storytelling Centre (from 2008 to 2016), and the City Art Centre (from 2010 to 2016). The company has also run Fenton Barns Farm Shop and Café, near Drem in East Lothian since September 2007.
Carlyle House not only provides them with a new showcase, but is also now the company’s head office
Both from corporate backgrounds, Mhairi and Roy have combined their entrepreneurial skills with their shared passion for gourmet food to lead the business and its talented staff into new areas and venues. Carlyle House not only provides them with a new showcase, but is also now the company’s head office.
